5 Tips to Take Your Outfits from Winter to Spring

We're entering a transitional period with our wardrobe. There are a few things we can't let go of just yet, but we're ready for a change. We're sure you are too!

There are ways you can use what you have in your wardrobe to move from winter into spring without having to invest time or money to buy new pieces. We are going to break down some staples that you can wear in both seasons, and how you can style them now.

Boots

Whether you prefer ankle or over the knee, you can't go wrong with keeping your boots around while we transition into spring. Want to freshen up your look? Pair your shoes with a flirty dress or skirt. It can be a little chilly during the transition, so if you aren't ready to bare some leg -- wear tights! Keep it fun by wearing them in bright colors! Pink is a favorite of ours, but you can also try yellow, blue or magenta.

Denim

We love a good dress, but we are never too far from a great piece of denim. Whether it's jeans, a skirt, or a jacket, we wear them all the time. In the winter we tend to choose a darker wash. As you transition from one season to the next mix and match your washes. If you want to keep it proportionate, we suggest a darker color on the bottom and something lighter on the top, such as a dark skinny jean with a light wash jacket. You could also try pairing with a floral top or some stripes!

Shoes

An open-toe mule or boot is another excellent transition shoe to wear from winter to spring. They are usually pretty comfortable and work with just about any outfit you could imagine. Flirty dresses, denim, or skirts are great options! If you decide to wear them with pants (jeans or trousers) pick something that hits around ankle length. The combination is great because it's enough to keep you warm, but the exposed ankle and peep toe will keep you cool as you run errands or meet up with your girlfriends.

Scarves

Another way you can transition your outfit is by using lightweight scarves. A pashmina is never far from our founder and CEO Tiffany Haas! It's one of her favorite accessories, and they work well as we move out of winter. Pick a soft color and wear it with your favorite lightweight jacket or long sleeve shirt. We like the outfit below. The stripes and pashmina are a fresh, very spring combination! Scarves also work well with your favorite dress too!

Sweaters

It might be some time before we can entirely ditch the sweater. But, if you want to freshen up your look switch to lighter colors. Those who aren't afraid to be bold can rock something in a bright red, orange, or pink. Regardless of what you have in your wardrobe or feel comfortable with, the idea is to move away from dark navy, green, or black. Take the look to the next level and throw it over a floral dress or a pleated skirt. Your outfit will still be warm, but look feminine.
